Now here are some guidelines that’ll be sure to help you out!
1. Send along a self-addressed stamped envelope (an envelope addressed to yourself with a stamp already on it) at least 8.5″ x 4″ in size with sufficient postage.
2. Don’t forget your request letter and a photo!
3. To keep your from being bent, place cardboard in the envelope. Write “Photo – Do Not Bend” on the outside so the post office can be extra careful with it.
4. Be patient! Ashley usually sends back an autographed photo.. Usually in 3 months time.
5. You don’t really have to include a photo in your letter, but most fans are successful in getting a signed photo when they include one.
6. Try and hand-write your letter to show Ashley how big of a fan you are! There’s nothing sweeter than knowing someone spent time and heart handwriting you a letter rather than typing and printing one.
7. KISS! Keep it short & sweet. Don’t write her a book. Oh, and make sure it’s neat and readable.
8. You can request a personalized one like.. “To Jane” or “To Megan”. It shows how big of a fan you are, and that you’re not just looking for something to sell on ebay.
9. If you live outside of the United States, add several International Reply Coupons. International Reply Coupons (IRC) are used by the receiver to purchase US stamps. You can only get them at your post office. Place the IRCs inside the envelope, not on it.
10. Once again, patience! Ashley gets hundreds, maybe THOUSANDS of letters! So it may take some time.
